I find them easier to press than the "standard" Microsoft Mouse. However, I realized today that it is because many people press the bottom of the button on their mouse (which is the same as pressing the top on most mice). Since the buttons on this mouse are essentially long levers, the closer to the end of the "lever" the easier it is to push. I have longer fingers and always press the top of the button (which is VERY easy on this mouse).When I purchased my first one, I honestly thought that it would be something to "put up with" in order to get it into the ultra-thin case of my netbook. I couldn't have been more wrong, as I have now replaced the full-size mouse on my laptop and my desktop as well. Go out and buy one. This is one well designed mouse. Frankly, it is a thing of beauty. I normally don't support anything Microsoft but whoever design this mouse deserves a raise. The button placement is perfect. The function of the scroll bar is fine. The additional tap functionality is outstanding. I now no longer use it for travel. It is also the mouse on my desk.
